Mike, (DQ)
I am not sure if you will remember me but I ran the wood shop at CTI and Envirotech when you worked there. I talk to John (AKA Uncle Wheels) on a regular basis and he was telling me about what a trying time his oldest friend and family are currently going through. It wasn’t until this week I found out this oldest friend (and in no way am I implying age) was you.
He had passed on your family Blog site and I have spent quite some time reading the entries and finding out what Joanne, you, your kids and family have been going through. It is quite a moving experience for someone, even if they don’t know all be people involved.
I don’t expect that you would remember me, but you on the other hand, are easily remembered. That is the type of person you are. Anyone who has had the pleasure of crossing paths with you at one point or another in there lives will be sure to be left with great memories (and a sore stomach from laughing so hard). After reading what friends and family have posted on your web site, it is quite apparent that good people attract good people.
I don’t know if I have ever met Joanne. It is quite possible I did at a CTI Christmas party, but I have to apologize, in those days if you will recall, not a lot was remembered the next day. Although I don’t know her, after reading what has been written by the dozens of people, I do know that she is a bigger person than this and there is so much love for her it is overwhelming.
Being a husband and a fairly new father of 3 ½ years myself, your family’s story really opens one’s eyes to their own personal life and challenges you to make the most of it. Needless to say, there were some extra big hugs and kisses for my wife and son when I go home the other night.
I would like to wish Joanne, you, your children and family the strength and courage to face whatever comes your way head on and rise above it.
Sincerely,
Kevin Maddock
P.S. Please feel free to post this on your Blog site if you would like.
2 to you too there Wuddy!!!

Hi Kevin,
Puppy Pounders Unite!!!
2 2U2,
I haven't thought about it for a while, but I'm remembering ...
... Chris Graham's Tonka Truck,
... golf tournaments at Centennial Park,
... Turtle Jacks,
... beers in the warehouse,
... a party at my apartment in Georgetown BEFORE Chris and Jen were married (so I'm sure you've met Joanne) -
... and getting the job done.
Thanks for the great words.
There's an expression about work life that Garth Pillipow taught me and it goes like this:
"You have to like what you do, like who you're doing it with, AND make some money"
Well, I certainly liked who I was doing it with at CTI, and I continue to do so with the people I work with now.
I have included the Blogmaster here (yeah, he's related) to post your words for everyone to read. Knowing Uncle Wheels, "keeping in touch" probably happens over a beverage or two, and I'd love to join you in the future.
In the mean time, 2 right back atchu!!

["2" - to hold the first two fingers of either hand out like a gun, cock it back and "throw it" at someone and yell "2!" it's a salutation that I "invented" a long time ago. It used to be showing the "peace" sign with 2 fingers in the "v" shape. It morphed into the gun-like salute. Wheels and I use it in our emails as salutations and good byes ... and some people just remember it. Just part of the DQ arsenal of humorous stupidity. M]
