Update On Joanne

Unlike most people on this Blog, I have not had the pleasure and privilege of knowing Joanne. Although I only met her once - at a "Battle of the Bands" - I was very impressed with Joanne at that short meeting.

I'm a former co-worker and friend of many years of Joanne's mother-in-law, Bev, and have followed Joanne's journey through her. My first question for Bev when we meet, every couple of months, is "how is Joanne doing?" I have heard through Bev of Joanne's roller-coaster ride over the last 7 years. I am always amazed at the stories Bev has told me of Joanne and Mike's strength and courage during this illness. They are definitely heroes to so many people.

It is very apparent how loved they are by reading the messages written to them. How wonderful to have so many people in your corner pulling for you. These messages are a wonderful legacy for all the family especially the 3 D's to cherish.

As I said even thought I do not "know" Joanne, I now feel I do after reading the messages. She is certainly a very special person and I wish her and her family well.
