Update On Joanne

First of all, a huge thank you to Ted for providing us with this BLOG.

I just wanted to clarify Jamie’s story a bit (our favourite night). Although technically correct, Jamie was NOT in the bed with us. He was on the couch with his bottle of whisky.

Jo had not been imbibing due to her medications. For those who know me, that evening, Joanne shared my love of wine. I did not know that Jo was wearing a wig as it was the first night we met. And yes, I did fall in love with Jo and her entire family. Jo’s quirky sense of humour was evident, as she showed me how she got a haircut … push her wig back on her head. WARPED but hilarious. By around 9:00, Jo went up to tuck in Darcy and our daughter Anica who were watching a movie in the master bed. She let her eyes shut, and the next morning…. I awoke and did say “Did Jo make it home all right?” Jo … in a very quiet voice said NO, she is still here.

So there our friendship was solidified. With our girls still between us, Jo whispered, “I was so scared that my wig would come off in the night and scare the wits out of Anica.” Through everything, Jo’s only thought has been for those around us. Like so many others, last years walk 2EBC was my gift to Jo. I still think of her face, shining with pride as Dean walked by with the opening flag. I captured that kiss and it is one of my favourite pics.

Jo collects angels, and without hesitation I can say that Jo for me is a very special angel.
