Update On Joanne

Joanne, there I was out tonight to watch one of Allison’s soccer games (the kelly green team) when this lightening flash of teal passed before my eyes. What could it be I wondered. Then I noticed the blonde ponytail – yes it was Darcy. Boy does she play a mean game of soccer. I’m going to go out on a limb here and take a guess that she gets her speed from you Joanne. In Darcy, I saw the same determination that I have seen in you over the past year. I was having so much trouble cheering on both Allison and Darcy – what a relief it was when the game ended 0 to 0. I might add that Tom had his eye on Dean kicking the ball around at half time. Tom seems to think that Dean should be out there sporting his own soccer jersey.

That determination that I mention above reminds me of a conversation we had at the hospital earlier this year. I had taken you to one of your radiation treatments and then on to an MRI. I told you that you reminded me of the Energizer Bunny. Somehow from deep inside you have the determination that just keeps you going and going. No matter how bad you are feeling or how much pain you have been in – you put a smile on your face and just keep on going and going!

I also had a chance this evening to visit with a huge clan of fans that Darcy brought out with her. It was great to see.
