Hello Mike and Joanne
I've been updated on joanne's progress through friends of mine (Sharon and Curtis) and through my brother/sister in law (Julie and Andrew). I've watched your accomplishment on the women's network and in just my first year have raised a total of $1700 for Princess Margaret. I myself had a scare with cancer. I was still breast feeding my 10 month old daughter, and I remember feeling that something just wasn't right on my upper right side. I asked my doc for an ultrasound. She looked at me like I was nuts and decided after all of my pestering to let me have it. They found a fairly large tumor on my liver. I had a chest x-ray, catscan, and a whole barrage of tests. They told me I had a 50/50 chance that it was a carcinoma. I was told if indeed it was this type of cancer, I would not have very long. I've never been so petrified in all my life! Four long and draining months later and after two biopsies, I found out that it was benign. During that long and harrowing four months, the person that kept popping into my head was you Joanne. The stories I had heard about your strength and character while you were dealing with your own battle. It gave me the courage to keep on going, when all I wanted to do was crawl under a rock.
I have met you on several occasions, but never taken the time to really talk. I see now from all the letters, songs, poems and overwhelming show of support what an amazing women you are. I also see from reading these stories that you like your back rubs. I would like to extend an offer of my hands and company if there are any takers. I'm a registered massage therapist and I would love to volunteer my time to you. Please let me know if there's anything I can do to make this journey easier for you.
[519-853-3998] My prayers are with you and your family at this time.
