Wed Aug 30

A restless Monday night was met with a sleepful Tuesday. The headache continues to be a pain in the arse, but there is lots of cold water in the taps for the facecloth. Tuesday evening saw the pain in the back starting to creep back in, and not getting enough fluids while sleeping meant that an IV was started. A restful overnight and the IV has done its job. The doc is happy with the"output", so the IV is coming out sometime this morning.

Hugs and Prayers,
Mike

Hi Joanne,

Glad to hear you had a more restful night last night. I was reminded of you today when I was driving around town. I saw signs up for the "Terry Fox Run," remember when we did that? You made me tear up at the end, because you were so excited after completing it. You were so proud of yourself and that accomplishment, you had to tell your entire class! Then Dean did his speech on heroes, and you are his. Wow! That one sure made me cry. I think I will sign up for the walk again, and walk for you.
Love Ya!
Martha
See you on Saturday

In everyone's life, at some time, our inner fire goes out. It is then burst into flame by an encounter with another human being. We should all be thankful for those people who rekindle the inner spirit.

Hi there Joanne, Mike and family,

My name is Tammy, and I was a student at Holy Cross school many many moons ago. I didn't actually have Joanne as a teacher, but remember looking up to her so much because she was so young and beautiful...she made it very easy to admire her! Mike, I remember you joining us on a school field trip one day, and you being so excited, and goofy, and full of fun. Very cool. I can only imagine what you have all gone through in the past several years. I commend you, especially you, Joanne, for your strength, and your amazing outlook on what this battle has been for you. You have handled it with such style and grace. Although I have thought of you so very often, I had never spoken to you. It was only by coincedence (or not) today, that I visited the GMHA site and found your blog. It was amazing to read all of the stories and memories. I feel...such emotion for you, and your family. I want to help. I want to hug you. I want to do anything I can to make it all better for you. My heart is crying for you tonight. I am so glad that you have such a large and amazing group of people surrounding you, supporting you all. I am sure you are so grateful. I am such a small person, I mean...I don't even know if you would remember me...But I remember you. And I absolutley always will! You too Mike! Although I will admitt, this is the first time I've ever called either of you by your first names! I feel so grown up! (only took me 27 years!) I would like to pop in and visit. I hope that would be okay. I will keep it quick, as I realize how popular you are! But if you happen to need a foot rub, I'd be totally fine with that too! I believe I will see you soon.
Thanks for creating this blog. I'm really grateful I had a chance to say hello. I really do think of you all so often. If there is anything at all that I can do....please, do not hesitate to call. 905-877-4052. Really.
Love, prayers and thoughts abound,

Tammy Crawley (Dooley)

P.S. I guess it was a blessing that our hockey fees bounced! Otherwise I would not have found you! (now I don't feel quite so bad for that little boo boo)
