When Del passed away eighteen years ago someone, I can’t now recall who, sent me this poem. I copied it and sent it with all my thank-you notes after his funeral. I still have copies and send it to friends whose lives cancer has touched. I find the words so true and they speak so eloquently about Joanne and her indomitable spirit. I hope that any who read this may feel the same way.

(aka Mrs. d’ , grandma Kay )What Cancer Cannot DoCancer is so limited –
It cannot cripple love,
It cannot shatter hope,
It cannot corrode faith,
It cannot destroy peace,
It cannot kill friendship,
It cannot suppress memories,
It cannot silence courage,
It cannot invade the soul,
It cannot steal eternal life,
It cannot conquer the Spirit
