Mike, Dylan, Dean and Darcy ...
I wish to express my deepest sympathies.
I had the pleasure of working with Joanne (your Mom) at St. Catherine's for 4 years. I moved home to Sault Ste Marie two years ago, but I've always kept her in my thoughts and prayers. She and I were planning-time buddies. I have fond memories of her fiesty spirit and unforgettable way with words. We shared many a laugh and a few tears in that staff room.
I just recently learned of the blog and have been deeply moved by all of the words and stories that people have shared. In fact, I was reading your latest update last evening when I received a call from a colleague telling me of Joanne's passing. It only seemed right that she waited to 'cross the finish line' on her own terms when all those she's been fighting with completed their feat.
She fought a hard fight!
Joanne, may you find peace in "The Next Place".
Mike, Dylan, Dean and Darcy, may you find comfort in knowing she's at peace, and longer knows pain.
Fondly remebered,
Jamie-Lynn O'Neill
