Hey Bikermom here again.
Just got home from doing the big walk, what a wonderful weekend we had Denean, Linda, Doris, Cindy, Angela and myself, we enjoyed some rain in which we could wear our $1 store rain ponchos to keep us dry, stopped at Mr. Sub for lunch so we could avoid those wonderful soggy wraps (Jo I know how much you loved them), then pushed forward looking for a pub to stop at for a beer, problem was we had ice cream before the pub so beer didn’t sound so good. Pushed on until we finally reached the end of day one, through the course of the adventure we would reminisce about previous year’s walks and who did what at what point.
When we reached the end of day one it was time to head to the hotel, feeling tired, sore and a little chilly we waited in line to catch a cab. Once we accomplished that, we were on a mission to get to a liquor store (very important after doing a big walk) $35 dollar cab ride later with some liquor we reach the hotel to discover the next day that there was a liquor store right across the street from the hotel ... go figure ...
Day two all goes well, head out for the day and what a wonderful day it was sun is shining all is good ... stopped for lunch to have those wonderful soggy wraps that we avoided yesterday ... um yummy ... after lunch found beer ... um yummy tasted good ..... after beer next mission to the lakeshore and more beer ... we did well this year!
Through our whole adventure of the weekend we talked and thought about Joanne, she was on our minds the entire time knowing she was with us in spirit wishing she was here in person.
Before the start of this weekend I had thought that this would be my last weekend to walk, but on my ride down Friday I started to get excited thinking of the weekend and all the energy and spirit that goes along with it, by Sunday morning my next years registration was handed in ... we need to find a cure for this horrible disease so no else needs to suffer like Joanne has, its not fair, so for as long as my legs will allow me too I will continue to walk.
Joanne girl! and all who surround you, you are in my thoughts and prayers, rest well.
LOL
