Sept 11 - 6:55 pm ...

Joanne passed from us into the hands of her Lord

and those beloved who were waiting for her.

Joanne passed peacefully and with grace.

Present were: Mike, Kay, Jeannine, Paul and Kevin

May the Lord watch between thee and me,
while we are absent, one from the other.
Amen.

Comments:
Do not stand at my grave and weep,
I am not there, I do not sleep.
I am in a thousand winds that blow,
I am the softly falling snow.
I am the gentle showers of rain,
I am the fields of ripening grain.
I am in the morning hush,
I am in the graceful rush
Of beautiful birds in circling flight,
I am the starshine of the night.
I am in the flowers that bloom,
I am in a quiet room.
I am in the birds that sing,
I am in each lovely thing.
Do not stand at my grave and cry,
I am not there. I do not die.

May God Bless and hold you as dearly as you were held here with us!

Dear Mike and Family,

There are no words to describe how truly sorry we are for all of you ...

Our prayers will continue to include all of you!!!!!

Michael, Mary Jo, Bradley, Matthew, Jennifer

I wanted to send one final Irish Blessing.

May the strength of God pilot us,
May the wisdom of God instruct us,
May the hand of God protect us,
May the word of God direct us.
Be always ours this day and for evermore.
- St. Patrick

Mike, Dylan, Dean, Darcy, Kay and all the dEntremonts and Daquanos - Joanne is and will remain yours this day and for evermore.

...until we meet again Joanne,
May God hold you in the palm of his hand.

My thoughts and prayers are with you all.

Cara

From Kim...
I thought I could sleep through the night but I woke early this morning and lay in bed. The DQ's gathered at our house last night and we had tears and drinks and laughter. We toasted to "our" Joanne. We toasted Kay for it was Kay who brought Joanne into this world and was there when she went out. Joanne was surrounded by love and peace and for me yesterday was a happy day that Joanne was able to let go.

Thanks to Dylan we've quickly adopted a saying for this family and that is "my driveway is clean". Earlier in the blog Mike wrote a story about Dylan's analogy of feelings piling up like snow on the driveway. Feelings like snow, can become so heavy, almost too heavy to clear if you don't get them out and off the driveway. I feel fortunate to say that although our hearts are heavy, for most of us our driveway is clean. We even joked last night that some of us may have heated driveways but we also know that there are still those that are struggling with Joanne's journey. This is a time of celebration for Joanne, a time of sorrow for us.

My heart is heavy but my driveway is clean...can I offer you a shovel?

All my love,
Kim

I love you Mike. I love you, Dylan Dean and Darcy.
Joanne, I love you - I'll miss you!

In loving memory of Joanne Daquano

We little knew that morning,
God was going to call your name,
In life we loved you dearly,
In death we do the same.

It broke all our hearts to lose you,
You did not go alone,
For part of all of us went with you,
The day God called you home.

You left us beautiful memories,
Your love is still our guide,
And though we cannot see you,
You are always at our side.

We thought of you with love today,
But that is nothing new.
We thought about you yesterday,
And the days before that too.

We think of you in silence,
We often speak your name.

Now all we have are memories,
And your picture in a frame.

Your memory is our keepsake,
With which we’ll never part.

God has you in His keeping,
We have you in our hearts.

Dear Mike and kids

God saw you getting tired, and a cure was not to be. So he put his arms around you, and whispered "come to ME". With tearful eyes we watched you, and saw you pass away. Although we loved you dearly, we could not make you stay. A golden heart stopped beating, hard working hands at rest. God broke our hearts to prove to us, He only takes the best.

Mike, this was given to me when my mom passed away some four years ago.

All my love and prayers,
Janet Anderson

and direct us; and God has provided for this,
by appointing his angels to be our teachers and guides."

My prayers and sympathy to the family and friends of Joanne. I came to know about Joanne through Tina, her sister-in law and even more through this site. God bless you all and hope that her memory and shared moments (even for such a brief moment) will give you peace and joy in knowing such a graceful and courageous person.

May you rest in peace Joanne and be re-united with your love ones some glorious day.

Juliet Lewin, co-worker of Tina.

I found out Joanne had passed through my children who were discussing their friend Dylan's loss over MSN. I was touched by the amount of respect and admiration Joanne was given by these young teen agers. Young, old, it made no difference. Her message was heard by anyone and everyone she touched.

Death is only sad for those it leaves behind.

I pray for you Mike to find the strength that Joanne had in life. I pray for your children, that they remember their Mother as not only a fighter, but as a gentle soul who loved them unconditionally, and who will continue her watch over their lives from the comfort of her place now in heaven.

I am so sorry for the loss you all are feeling ... May God Bless and keep you all safe. Our thoughts, Our prayers are yours for how ever long you need them.

All our love...

Joanne:

It took great strength and courage to fight the hard battle that God had challenged you with. It took even greater strength and courage to finally let go. Your spirit and the love you shared will always be here and from the heavens above you will continue to watch and guide. Joanne, you will never be truly gone. You still live among us. Your strength and courage will always be felt by the loved ones you have temporarily left behind.

To Joanne’s family, no words can be expressed that will lighten your heavy hearts. No one can know your grief. Rejoice in knowing that your “Angel” is now truly that. She will never truly be gone forever.

Our thoughts and prayers are with you all.

Memories are like gold,
They never tarnish nor grow old.

Mike--you have invited us in to your personal pain, and I for one am honoured that you would allow us. It is now our turn to invite you and your children to us, to help you.

Joanne will never be forgotten. May God Bless your family and Joanne's.

Mike kids and family our thoughts and prayers are with you today and always.

You are in our thoughts and prayers today as we hear of Joanne's passing. It is with heavy hearts that we say goodbye to a special person like Joanne, but we are able to do so knowing she is at peace and resting without pain.
Your family has been a source of strength and courage throughout Joanne's battle, and for this I know she is proud. She will be sadly missed but fondly remembered by all that had the pleasure of knowing her. Please continue to be strong, but lean on others when you feel the need.

"what we have once loved can never be lost, for they are forever in our hearts and minds".

DQ.........I sit here with tears in my eyes.......they are tears of sadness - for your loss, and "ours." They are tears of Joy - for the fact that Jo-Jo is no longer in pain. They are tears of fear - for the unknown of what lays ahead. They are simply that........tears....for whatever reason, I can't, and won't fight them. I know that Joanne would tell us all not to.
As you say.......words are just words. Actions speak louder than words. I would like to offer today, tomorrow, next week, next month, whenever - anything to you. As the days go on, adjustments will be made. NO ONE will EVER forget Joanne........Your angel, and ours. Your best friend, Your soulmate, the Mother of your Children, Your Wife, Our Friend. She meant so much to so many people. And, still does!
I offer you everything I have not only today, but always my friend!

Mike, Dylan, Dean and Darcy and family,

I can only image the sorrow that you are feeling this time. Joanne was a very strong women and a role model for all that knew her. Everyone could take something from her and apply it to their lives to make themselves a better person. She had a desire for life that was truly amazing. I think that Joanne’s story is one of perseverance. We must remember that this is not the end, yet the beginning of Joanne’s new life with our Lord. Lest we forget this truly amazing person.

In my thoughts and prayers

Michael Capostagno
(Dean's friend)

I knew your "Angel Joanne" as Mrs. Daquano. She was a beloved teacher who touched the lives of many. Evidence of this is seen clearly through this blog. I was at the relay for life before the summer and walked around the track all night...there was at least 60m of the CTK track lined with luminaries in her name! A devoted wife, mother, and teacher; she will never be forgotten.
